On January 8 KST, BTS member Jungkook shared a heartfelt message with fans on the artist-to-fan communication platform Weverse.

The artist, who's currently serving in the military, wrote a New Year's greeting which you can read below.

Jungkook, along with RM, V, Jimin, and Suga, are scheduled to be discharged from the military in June 2025. Both J-hope and Jin were discharged from the military in 2024.

Jungkook's full message:

"This New Years Greeting is a bit late.
Hi, this is Jungkook hehe.

It’s the year of my discharge and the year I get to meet ARMY.
But honestly, nothing has really changed in how I feel.
As always, my mind is full of constant thoughts of missing you.

There isn’t much to share; I’m simply waiting.
Still, if there’s one thing I want to rush toward, it’s learning new things and spending time growing/developing—for ARMY.

Time seems to be passing well, though I wish it would go faster.
I miss you so much that it feels overwhelming sometimes.

Not only is it January but it's already the 8th!
You all are healthy, right?
May this year bring you lots of blessings, and may tonight be a moment where you feel the new year’s start wasn’t too bad.

Even though I say, “Don’t get sick,” I know it’s hard to avoid sometimes.
I hope, at the very least, any pain you feel is small and brief.

And when you go to sleep, I hope it’s a night free of restless thoughts.

I’ll wait just a little longer.
I love you."
